Group Exhibition . Galerie2 . Amsterdam

We are pleased to take part in the group exhibition at Galerie2 in Amsterdam, opening on March 27, with two works: Column of Memory and The Cut.

Column of Memory

This column is composed of 6,164 mirror segments, each hand-cut, delicately polished, and mounted. Arranged in a luminous, galaxy-like spiral, these segments unite to form a singular, standing column.

In a parallel manner, human civilization—built upon the pillars of historical experiences and innovations—is constructed from the accumulation of fragments of memory: moments of glory and failure, countless intersections of lights and shadows, and the harmonies and alignments of human will and effort.

It is through this column, constructed from segments, that civilization shines like a luminous galaxy, each piece contributing to a larger galaxy of memory and light.

The Cut

Traumas—historical wounds carried by both the individual and the collective—can, when absorbed as lived experience, become a source of illumination. Like a rare gem embedded in the earth, they reflect the radiance of the sun within us.
Cut draws on the structure of the skin’s seven layers, and is composed of seven layers of mirror-work. What was once a site of pain and unease becomes a source of experience, understanding, and reflection.
